I was born in the north part of China and
received my master degree in Polymer from
Beijing University of Chemical Technology in
1998. Then I worked as assistant engineer in
Leminggen Corporation for a couple of years. To
further my education, I pursued my Ph.D in
Polymer and Organic Chemistry at Changchun
Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy
of Science in January 2006. My research focused
on the synthesizing organometallic complexes and
investigating their behaviors of polymerization.
In February 2006, I began working with Prof.
Kevin Smith at University of Edward Island
(Canada) on the Synthesis and reactivity of
catalytic Cr(II) and Cr(III) complexes for
carbon-carbon bond forming reactions for five
months. After that, I joined Prof. Asandei’s
group at the University of Connecticut for the
development of ring-opening and living radical
polymerization using transition metal complexes
as catalysts and the synthesis of complex
polymer architectures. My current project with
Prof. Weder is in the area of Self-Assessing
Photoluminescent Polymers.
