I was born and grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio. I graduated with a BSE from Case with a major in Polymer Science and Engineering in January 2005. While an undergraduate I participated in the REU program for three summers and was a co-op at The Sherwin-Williams Company. I joined the groups of Chris Weder and Stuart Rowan in the fall of 2005 working on Supramolecular Organometallic Polymers. When I'm not in the lab I enjoy participating in intramural sports and downhill skiing.

I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. I attended CWRU and received a BS in Polymer Science and Engineering in May ’07. By participating in undergraduate research, the REU Program, and interning with Eastman Chemical Company, I was able to juxtapose the lifestyle of a corporate engineer with that of a research scientist. Unfortunately, as graduation came near I still could not decide what suited me better. I decided to take the study further, and go into the working world while pursuing my MS in Macromolecular Science and Engineering part time. I am part of the Edison Engineering program with GE C&I, and have an interest in solid state lighting--OLEDs in particular. When I’m not at work or taking courses, I enjoy traveling, football, movies, and the Beers of the World Tour at The Winking Lizard.

I was born and raised in Rochester, New York. I attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and received my BS degree in polymer chemistry in May 2004 and an MS in chemistry in May 2006. For my MS thesis I worked under Dr. Thomas Smith investigating the synthesis and use of phosphonate coupling molecules to grow polymer chains from titania nanoparticles utilizing reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization. I joined Chris Weder's group in the fall of 2006 working on New Nonlinear Chromophores and Materials for Photonic Crystals, a project that is part of the NSF Science and Technology Center for Layered Polymeric Systems (CLiPS). In my spare time I enjoy playing guitar, which I have taught for the past six years.

I was born in Warren, Ohio. I spent my first 18 years there with my parents, older brother, and twin sister. I then attended Ohio Northern University out in the cornfields of Ada, Ohio. I received my bachelor degree in chemistry from ONU in May 2004. I joined Chris Weder's group in the fall of 2004 and my research is in the area of working on Polymer Materials with Built-In Deformation and Temperature Sensors. I love playing sports (especially rugby) and hanging out with my husband Brian.

I was born and raised on the far east side of Indianapolis. I went to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and received a BS in Physics along with minors in Optics, Semiconductors, and German. I spent a great summer here right before my senior year of college in the Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering’s REU program. I liked the program so much that I came back to join Chris Weder’s group in the summer of 2005 working on Conjugated Polymer Networks. In my free time I enjoy doing nothing mostly, interrupted occasionally by video games or playing cards.

I was born in Detroit, Michigan in April of 1983.  I spent the first 20 years of my life in Washington, Michigan, which is a quiet, peaceful suburb 40 min north of Detroit.  I graduated from Oakland University (Rochester, MI) in May of 2005 with a B.S. Chemistry.  My current research as part of the Weder group is the study of Dynamic Photonic Crystals.  In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, going to concerts, and both playing and watching any kind of sport.

I am a native of Chennai, a small city in the southern part of India. After my undergraduate studies in Textile Technology at Anna University, India, I worked as technical support engineer for Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd. My responsibility was the installation and troubleshooting of machine problems, which was a good learning experience and allowed me to travel to different parts of India. To further my education, I pursued a Masters Degree in Materials and Textiles at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth. My research involved the investigation of thermal and flame retardant properties of nylon 6/montmorillonite fibers, specifically the role of sample geometry and synergistic agents. I joined Case Western Reserve University’s PhD Program in Macromolecular Science and Engineering in Fall 2006 and now work between the groups of Chris Weder, Stuart Rowan and Dustin Tyler on the design, fabrication, and investigation of Stimuli Responsive Biomimetic Nanocomposites.
